I was invited to contribute an article to Ophthalmology Business ezine. I wrote all about the Backdoor Roth IRA. There won’t be much new there for long-time readers of this blog, but if you don’t know what a Backdoor Roth IRA is then it’s time you found out!
Backdoor Roth IRAs are a great way for doctors to shelter up to $12K (married over 50) a year in addition to their 401K or other retirement plan. They also provide valuable tax diversification during retirement.
It’s a lot of fun to see the message of The White Coat Investor spreading all over the country. Personal finance and investing are far less complicated than medicine, and just a little bit of time spent on it can pay huge dividends for most doctors. But you must always beware of members of the financial services industry, who often service doctors like Bonnie and Clyde serviced banks!
If you know of a physician-related publication that would benefit from articles from The White Coat Investor, please shoot me an email!
