Physician Financial Services
There is certainly no shortage of insurance agents and/or financial advisors that work with or want to work with physicians. However, the one thing that cannot be replicated is experience. Working with an Insurance Agent that is familiar with the underwriting of both disability and life insurance policies can potentially minimize any surprises during the process.
Lawrence B. Keller, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, RHU®, LUTCF has been helping physicians since 1990. Unlike medicine, which has a standardized path that physicians must take to gain the education, training, and experience requirements necessary to obtain board certification, the insurance and financial services industry does not. Recognizing that a physician's time is limited, and to provide the most value to his clients, Mr. Keller has obtained his CFP® certification as well as earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) designations.
Larry is well-known to blog readers from the more than a dozen guest posts he has published on disability insurance and life insurance planning since 2012, as well as, being a Platinum Level Contributor to the WCI Medical School Scholarship since its inception in 2015.
While he might not be a doctor’s first phone call regarding their insurance needs, he is often their last.
Why You?
First and foremost, I believe in educating potential clients to help them find the policy or policies that best meet their individual needs, goals and budget. Disability insurance planning is very much like a Rubik’s Cube. The first time you see it with the colors scrambled, you can’t imagine ever having the ability to solve puzzle. However, once you do it, your goal is to solve it faster using a more efficient method and fewer moves—at least that’s my goal as an agent. This is where experience comes into play and, like medicine, it is the one thing that cannot be replicated.
I also tend to know of or have access to some unique offerings such as Guaranteed Standard Issue (GSI) disability insurance plans, unisex rates and discounts at specific institutions.
Ideal Client
My ideal client is one that values speed, accuracy and expertise. I pride myself in responding quickly and accurately to questions and inquiries. If there are exclusive discounts or Guaranteed Standard Issue (GSI) disability insurance plans available to a potential client, I will disclose them and provide the name and contact information for the “Endorsed” Agent if it is in their best interest – even if it is something I cannot offer or be compensated for myself.
