Health care workers are our nation's new heroes. Many of you have never been in this situation before. Those of us who have been military docs already know this drill. You get a lot of people telling you “thank you for your service” when they see you in your uniform. Lots of businesses offer you discounts, occasionally someone buys your lunch anonymously, and you learn to start asking “Do you offer a military discount?” This time, it's health care workers that get to enjoy and share the benefits of a thankful country.
Just in time for the holidays, below is a big long list of companies that are still offering discounts for health care workers like physicians, dentists, APCs, and other health care professionals who read this blog. Hopefully, you can find one or two discounts you can use for yourself or for a loved one. (Specific details to the discount can be found at each of their links.) But even if a company isn't listed, don't be afraid to ask for a health care discount! Note that many of these companies use SheerID or ID.me to verify your professional status, others require you to show a badge, and still others use the honor system. The more you save, the more verification you'll be asked to provide.

Feel appreciated yet? I sure do. I was trying to put together a totally comprehensive list, but after 4 or 5 hours I gave up. But I think I got the best discounts available out there.
What do you think? What discounts or freebies for health care workers have you found that didn't make this list? Comment below!
Although slightly off topic, the FCC has a little known program that can reimburse you thousands for tele-health equipment you may have had to buy. Here is the link: https://www.fcc.gov/covid-19-telehealth-program
Thanks for the post, but isn’t this limited to nonprofit organiizations or govt sponsored clinics
McDonald’s is giving free “Thank You” meals for healthcare workers with a badge. For lunch, you have the option of a double cheeseburger, 6 piece chicken nuggets, or a Filet O’fish sandwich. Meals come with small fries and any size soft drink. There are breakfast options as well.
I think this might be state specific.

Verizon is not offering discounts for physicians. Only nurses and teachers. And physicians have complained to them about this so they don’t deserve the free promotion here.
Verizon should be giving discounts for all frontline workers……not just nurses!!!! Although nurses are walking angels so are the many other professions of healthcare during this crisis! Show the love! Give back! They deserve it!!!
Why do you feel like you can tell a private business what they should and should not be doing? Reminds me of an email I got recently of someone telling me I should give him a discount on my online course. It’s up to private individuals and businesses what they want to do. If you want to register your displeasure with Verizon over this, go sign up with AT&T.
Awesome! I love it when a blogger doesn’t put up with Godawful BS on his site. I fully support giving discounts to nurses and not physicians, and I’m a physician. When nurses make as much as physicians then stop giving them the discounts too.
Unreal!! You must be a liberal. How about they go through all the training, exams, loss of income, loss of time while in school and decrease pay in residency & massive student loan debt first! They had the choice to become physicians and they chose not to!
Done.
Done. Signed up with AT&T.
Under Armour is for Nurses and First Responders only the ID Me site is very specific on the profession. So some of these sites that use a third party to verify will not give discounts to all healthcare workers as I am a Inpatient Pharmacy Technician.
Thanks!
This is not accurate – Source: my doc wife used it to purchase UA items last week.
Who is eligible?
ID.me powers discounts and special offers for the Active Duty, Retirees, Veterans, Military Spouses, Military Family Members, as well as First Responders including active Police, Fire, Nurses, Doctors, and EMT customers.
Via the above link.
Since I am just a tech in the emergency room, do I qualify for discounts or is it strictly just for nurses and doctors?
Please call their customer service number and ask them. If you’re working in the E.R. right now, you’re considered frontline. Thank you so much for your service. 🤗
I think you qualify.

Did my comment not go through or did it get edited out? I can’t seem to get it to post. My family is getting the MacDonalds deal in Michigan and I’ve been doing it in Virginia. Website says participating locations. Pretty good deal.
Thanks for putting this list together, Jim!
Verizon did give us 15 GB of extra data without us asking, but it didn’t know we were docs :-). (well…still am…although most of my work’s been cancelled now)
I agree with the concept of discounts limited from Docs because of their higher income, but considering families of COVID 19 patients and people who have special needs and people at high risk could benefit from such generosity.
would be very helpful as well. The idea that physicians don’t deserve the discount because they “complained” encroaches First Amendment rights.
My MD wife loves Universal Standard! They gave her a free high quality sweater, or something like that. I don’t know if Universal Standard is widely known out there, but she and her sister went to a personalized fitting with them several months ago, and now she can order their clothing pieces on line, knowing that it will fit well. Very smart.
They should have picked a better name, because it sounds like an insurance company, but it’s a great women’s clothing brand. Classic pieces that don’t go out of style.
I tried to figure out the ATT 3 months. It turns out it is a different company run by the government powered by ATT. Has unlimited data plans all the time from $39.99 but you can get 2-3 months free as a doctor or nurse. Only for you though, not family plan or spouse. Wasn’t worth it for me.
Thanks for sharing the details.
Thanks! You just saved me a lot of time.😊
I tried the Northface sight and the code would not work.
I wonder if the promotion ended early or something. It’s still on their site though:
https://www.thenorthface.com/help/the-north-face-healthcare-workers-discount-program.html
So why not call and ask.
You have to get verified by ID verification center and then type it in exactly including the words healthcarediscount or something like that. I saved $1200! You can also walk into a store as many times as you like and get the discount
permission to share this page with my colleagues at work…Thanks
Some places will still provide discount codes if they have run out of free product. Email a specific company to find out.
Verb bars is done. They were overwhelmed with response and haven’t been able to keep up. They will send you a sample pack for the cost of shipping though.
Thanks for the update.
Asics never sent me a code or responded to my request at all
Thanks for the update.
I also did not get a response from ASICS despite two emails (they way they instructed) with all my RN credentials.
I and my S.O. have also not received any response from ASICS. Signed up 3 weeks ago, emailed 2 follow-ups.
Fire Department Coffee offers discounts on mail order coffee and other products, to First responders, and as you all know, Emergency Department workers are categorized as First Responders by the Feds. Requires confirmation first.
The shoe was $60 before AND AFTER the discount…rip off!
Dude! You left off some of the BEST discount codes for awesome shoes!!
