Josh Daily, MD, MEd is a pediatric cardiologist and academic faculty member at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where he serves as a fellowship program director. He co-directs the Personal and Professional Financial Essentials for Physicians course—the only course of its kind in the nation—that's designed to equip fourth-year medical students with the financial skills every physician needs. He has earned a master’s degree in education, has delivered over 200 talks, and has authored more than 50 academic publications. He writes and speaks nationally on topics at the intersection of behavioral economics, decision-making, and personal finance.
Josh is passionate about helping physicians avoid burnout and find lasting fulfillment by making wiser financial and career decisions early in their training. His WCI columns explore how cognitive bias, career structure, and financial behavior shape physicians’ lives and choices. He is especially interested in the intersection of decision science and human flourishing, and he enjoys helping physicians and students apply this research to build lives that are meaningful, connected, and purpose-driven.
He lives in Little Rock, Arkansas, with his wife and four children. When he’s not teaching, writing, or wrangling kids, you’ll likely find him outdoors with a fly rod in hand.
