ELFI Student Loan Terms and Conditions

 

To begin the qualification process for the White Coat Investor sign-on bonus, customers must apply from the link provided on White Coat Investor. Customers who are approved for and close a loan will receive the bonus through a reduction in the principal balance of their ELFI loan when your loan has been disbursed. In order to receive this bonus, customers will be required to complete and submit a W9 form with all required documents. Taxes are the sole responsibility of the recipient. There is a limit of one bonus per borrower. This offer is not valid for current ELFI customers who refinance their existing ELFI loans, customers who have previously received a bonus, or with any other bonus offers received from ELFI via this or any other channel.

Multi Year Approval information

1. Loans and multi-year approval are subject to credit approval and continued program eligibility and school certification. Terms & conditions apply.

2. Residency deferment including automated deferment

  • An Automatic Residency Deferment will apply to borrowers who are enrolled or officially accepted into a medical residency program at the time they graduate from the school for MD, DO, DDS, DMD, and DPM degrees and the deferment period will automatically be extended for 48 months (not including the Grace Period) with no action necessary by the borrower. These borrowers may also extend the 48 month
    Automatic Residency Deferment Period in increments of 12 months up to 96 months total, provided that the borrower call ELFI and provide proof of residency or fellowship beyond the initial 48 months.
  • Borrowers who graduate with DNP, MSN, OD, DVM, and PharmD degrees may be eligible for Residency Deferment that can be requested in increments of 12 months up to 96 months total.
  • Residency Deferment is available at the sole discretion of ELFI. Borrowers must request and
    ELFI must approve the Deferment. Borrowers may be asked for proof of residency or
    fellowship to be approved. If approved, a minimum monthly payment of $25.00 will apply
    during the Residency Deferment. Borrowers may contact ELFI at any time to end Residency
    Deferment early.

3. Auto-pay discount

  • An interest rate reduction of 0.25% will be applied during any period in which the borrower or cosigner make scheduled automatic electronic monthly payments when payments are required. The autopay discount will not be applied when payments are not required, such as when payments are deferred or during any forbearance period, or if automatic payments are otherwise suspended.

4. Cosigner release

  • A borrower may request that the cosigner be removed after making 12 consecutive on time full Principal and Interest payments after all Deferment and Grace Periods have ended, pending approval within the program’s procedures including that the borrower must be able to qualify for the loan alone.

To begin the qualification process for the Customer Bonus, customers must apply from a “Check Your Rate” button link provided on (https://www.elfi.com/wci-edmed). Customers who are approved for and close a loan will receive a $300 bonus if the loan amount is $10,000 or greater. The $300 cash bonus check will be mailed to the borrower within 12 weeks of the final disbursement of the academic year, and the borrower has provided ELFI with a completed IRS form W-9. Limit one bonus per borrower. Borrower and cosigner (if applicable) must be at the age of majority or older at the time of application. Taxes are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
