Anthony Ellis is a psychiatrist who spent most of his career in Michigan, and beginning in 2022, he began his transition to early retirement at age 58. He still plans to work two days a week from his new home in the mountains of western North Carolina. After completing his medical degree at the University of South Florida, an internship in OB/GYN, and a psychiatry residency at MUSC in Charleston, S.C. (racking up a negative net worth of -$250,000 in the process), he and his wife moved to Michigan where they raised their four children. His contributions to WCI will focus on the transition from full-time work as a Chief Medical Officer (2018-2022) with a side gig (2010-present) to part-time work from home. He hopes to help others realize their financial and wellness goals.
