Every year, white coat investors from all over the country (and other countries) gather in a single location to boost their financial literacy; crush their burnout; and, perhaps most importantly, meet their people. If you're like most doctors or other high earners, there is no one in your life with whom you can be totally honest about finances. You worry people will judge you or play the “world's tiniest violin” for your “champagne” problems. Or they'll laugh because you still struggle despite a high income.
I know there is one place where you can be among those who can relate to you: The Physician Wellness and Financial Literacy Conference (WCICON). The latest edition on March 26-28, 2026, will be the eighth time we've done this as a community, and every time is better than the last. Once you come, you know. There's a reason that 230 people from last year signed up for this year's conference before they ever left last year's conference.

Hosted at the beautiful JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort in Summerlin, this will be a retreat experience far enough away from the Las Vegas Strip to relax and reset, but close enough to the lights and glamour if you want to experience it.
Don't miss the chance to experience all that Las Vegas has to offer while at WCICON26.
Our conference team is getting so good at running this event that the speakers and activities were already lined up eight months in advance. While our first edition of WCICON way back in 2018 might have felt like we were flying by the seat of our pants (when I was the only staff member in a room with 300 seats and 300 attendees, and our three part-timers were running the registration table in the hallway), those days are long gone. This is the best-run conference I attend all year. In fact, conference isn't even the right word. Experience is a better description. From picking up your swag bag at registration to the “until next year's” after the final keynote, you know you're with “your people.” The speakers are people whose words you've read; whose voices you've listened to; and whose ideas you're eager to learn, discuss, and debate. The participants are from multiple professions, and even though the majority may be physicians, when was the last conference you attended with doctors from dozens of different specialties?
It's not all academic either. From pickleball to yoga to wine-tasting to dinner groups, the point of this conference is wellness. Your wellness. I really don't care if you attend a single class at the conference, as long as you go home less burnt out than you came. Besides, we'll send all the content home with you to consume and digest on your own schedule over the next year. There's no need to attend every class. That's not the point. If you miss a great lecture because you're having a riveting discussion in the comfy seats in the lounge area about 529 asset allocation, how to get your charting done by the time your last patient leaves clinic, or how to furnish your first short-term rental, it's no big deal.
Why Las Vegas?
The last time we held this conference in Las Vegas (March 2020), it sold out in 23 hours. Sure, that event was a little marred by the NBA shutting down during the opening reception due to a worldwide pandemic, but it was still a great event—even if 25% of the speakers were replaced by capable WCIers already in the audience because their employers canceled their flights at the last minute. The market had dropped 10% the day before his lecture, so Rick Ferri revamped his entire presentation overnight to address the elephant in the room. We all went home inspired and prepared to be on the front lines of the pandemic, armed with burnout-busting and bear market-beating techniques.
Ever since, I've had a running debate with our staff members about whether we'd ever go back to Vegas. Believe it or not, there is a group of folks on our staff who are not huge Vegas fans. One of them might even be my wife—who oversees all of our products, including the conference. However, I'm convinced that while some people say they don't like Vegas, everybody actually DOES like Vegas. The ACEP president has told me that attendance is always higher when their scientific assembly is in Vegas, and I'm not surprised. So, I've promised my staff that if we go back to Vegas, not only will people come, but they're going to have an awesome time. Please don't turn me into a liar. Come! And have a great time!
Las Vegas has had a special place in my heart ever since I visited the first time as a college freshman back in 1993. I probably didn't do any of the activities on that trip that you might expect from a typical Vegas trip. In fact, we literally camped more or less where the resort hotel WCICON will be located has since been built. For me, it was a climbing trip, and we spent most of a long weekend in paradise climbing on the towers and walls of Red Rock Canyon. I've returned many times over the years with friends and family to go climbing, mountain biking, hiking, or slot canyon exploring.
When I think of Las Vegas, The Strip is far from the first thing that comes to mind for me. But I know that the shows and the gambling and the ruckus are some of the draws of Las Vegas for many of you.
So, we've compromised. We're going to Las Vegas, which has fantastic, stable weather in late March and lots of cheap, direct flights. We're staying at the beautiful JW Marriott Vegas Resort in Summerlin. It's closer to Red Rock (5 miles west) than it is to the Strip (10 miles east), but it's a pretty quick Uber ride either way. Registered attendees will get organized wellness activities—such as hikes (I hear I am leading one) and pickleball at a nearby park, yoga on the lawn, runs, and more. Our team has also organized the opportunity for you to reserve a seat at a show with other WCIers on Saturday night. More details to come, but if you want to see a show, this will be a great way to do it.
Come to Vegas. It's going to be awesome. And if we sell out, I can tell the WCI staff, “I told you so”—so much the better! If we sell out again, I'll even show up to the opening reception in an Elvis suit.
What Can I Learn at the Conference?
Enough personal stuff about me. WCICON is really about you and meeting your needs. We know some of you are investing superstars who love to get into the weeds about the nuances of personal finance. We also know that plenty of you are not. Some people every year show up to the conference never having read any of my books, followed the blog, or listened to the podcast. That's OK. WCICON will still be well worth your time and money. Whether you're early career and excited to get going, mid career and feeling a little crispy, late career and trying to land the plane on the runway, or already retired and looking for purpose and a few tweaks of your withdrawal plan, this conference is for you. Our speakers don't just talk at you. They experience the event with you.
We've got Christine Benz of Morningstar and Bogleheads fame talking about The Numbers and Psychology of Retirement Spending. We've got Robert Glazer, who was on the podcast last week, to help you build your capacity and unlock your potential with his keynote. Mike Piper, Jordan Grumet, Dawn Baker, Tyler Scott, Leif Dahleen, SC Gutierrez, Paul Merriman, and Julia Myers are all back. We've got new people you've never heard from before, including WCI COO Brett Stevens, who is going to tell you all the tricks he has used to get me to spend more money on stuff that makes me happier. Shweta Pearlstein is going to give you the truth about the short-term rental loophole, and Shani Esparaz is going to help you get over your imposter syndrome. You can see all the speakers and presentations here.
New for this year are three multi-hour workshops:
- The Intentional Physician: From Financial Chaos to Clarity and Purpose
- Redefining Retirement: Financial Freedom with Purpose and Joy
- Protecting Your Most Valuable Asset—You: Building a Sustainable Career Through Stress Awareness and Boundary Setting
These workshops will help you create that written financial plan you keep meaning to get to, develop a solid plan in preparation for retirement, or learn how to recognize and manage the stress and burnout in your lives. There will be no shortage of top-notch sessions. If they can pull me away from personally meeting just as many of you as I can, I might even have a new keynote or two to present. And since there is also a virtual version of the conference, I expect many of you to watch some of those presentations from the pool deck.

Early bird registration opens today (September 1) and gives you $300 off a regular or premium in-person conference registration. This is only open for a few weeks or until sold out!
This is a great opportunity to align with your spouse or partner on financial goals as well, and we have two options if they would like to join you. First, we'll give you a discount (20% off) on a second in-person registration for them. If they have zero interest in attending any of the sessions, there is also a “meals and activities pass” which allows them to join you for lunch and wellness activities. During the presentations, they can hang out by the pool, go golfing, or head to the spa while you're in class.
You may also attend virtually. It won't be nearly as much fun, but it will still be well worth your time. If you drag your feet too much, that might be your only option after we sell out and I put on my Elvis suit.
What Others Say About WCICON
“WCICON was fun, educational, and inspiring. I came away with more knowledge, new ideas and perspectives, and a sense of reinvigoration to step back into my day-to-day life knowing that I am setting my family up for financial success while striving for joy, purpose, meaning, and balance.”
–Nicole Hartman, MD
“WCICON is a rare blend of financial literacy, personal growth, and community-driven learning. It goes beyond investment strategies and tax planning to explore the deeper purpose behind financial independence. The conference bridges technical expertise with real-life application, making financial security feel not just achievable but meaningful.”
–Jordan Blanche, DDS
“This is my husband and my second time at WCICON, and we are excited and rejuvenated. We attended in 2023 and made significant changes to our work and personal lives. Most importantly, I found renewed passion in my career. Interestingly, that passion led to greater growth in our income, and at THIS conference, we are now financially independent and looking at the world through a whole new lens. We couldn't be more grateful for the wonderful connections we've made and the camaraderie that gives us greater confidence to live life on our terms.”
— Kirstina Gratz, DDS
“WCICON prompted me to reevaluate how I think and use my time, energy, and money to sustain myself personally and professionally, and it provided a practical to-do list on what I need to do to optimize my mental and financial health. WCICON provides a framework on how to thrive not only as a healthy physician but also as a healthy human being.”
–Margaret Leung, MD
Why You Need to Come to WCICON26
We didn’t go into medicine to get rich. For most of us, the calling to help others has been part of who we are for as long as we can remember. Physicians earn a high income for a reason, and there’s no need to apologize for it. But that income alone doesn’t guarantee financial success.
Too many physicians are still living paycheck to paycheck. More than 24% of doctors in their 60s haven’t yet reached a $1 million net worth . . . even after decades in practice. You’ve worked too hard and sacrificed too much to let financial stress define your life. Physicians come to the Physician Wellness & Financial Literacy Conference feeling overwhelmed, burned out, and uncertain about their future. They leave with clarity, confidence, and a plan.
This conference has changed the life trajectory of so many doctors—will you be next?
We hope you’ll join us March 25-28 in beautiful, sunny Las Vegas.
