Erik Hofmeister is a professor of veterinary anesthesia practicing in Alabama. He and his wife were oblivious about money but frugal, accumulating more in their savings account without any idea of what to do with it before encountering Mr. Money Mustache and then WCI. He has since become a personal finance aficionado, presenting at national conferences and teaching personal finance and retirement planning to students, house officers, and other faculty. He has no children, and he is excited to do deep-dive analyses on early retirement planning and execution after retiring in early 2025 in his 40s.
