Being short is a part of my identity, and it’s a descriptor that extends past my height. I enter medical school because I have been short my entire life, and it has given me everything.

My dad has worked at convenience stores, factories, restaurants, and anything to pay the bills. Enough is enough. You’ve done more than anyone I know. It’s time to take a break.

Graduation is the day I get to look my mother in the eye and say... "as they confer this degree on me, they really confer it on us. Because, it is as much yours as it is mine”.
