You don’t need a balanced portfolio right now; put everything in stocks.  You can also invest in VTI (ETF vs the mutual fund), which is $1k min or a target retirement fund until you have $3k then convert it to Total Stock.

Our DR loan was 0% down, 0 PMI and the best rate available 3.6%.  There was no “better” interest rate with $$ down.

I would pay off all the debt.  Put the rest in taxable.  Cash flow your mortgage and extra payments.  $50k won’t change your monthly payments substantially.

Pay off any debt at 4% or higher.

Stash away $15-30k for an emergency fund in an HY savings accounts.

Pay tuition with cash going forward.  Save $XXX amount to pay your accumulated interested on your current loans at the end of 4 years so that it doesn’t capitalize.

Keep the car and pay off if 2.5% or higher.

He’s making double Medicare reimbursement in cash. Seems like a genius. Do 6 joints in Mexico for cash for the same as 12 in the US with overhead and taxes not included.

They’re paying you in the 25%ile base then bonusing you on “Base Value Compensation” is what I’m understanding.  As a hospital employee, I’d figure you’d be getting 50%ile pay min.  Next, what’s the chance you get a “perfect score” in all measures; is that even achievable (I’d ask to see numbers and “scores” for the last 3 new hires)?  If they gave you $1mil bonus but you could never get a perfect score, it’s all just for show.

Adding a “home” button at the bottom right above the reply to box.

Would make it easier after replying than to scroll to the top and hit home on mobile devices

I have vti in my taxable because it had a lower initial value to invest, only $1k. I could convert to vtsax but don’t see a reason for it.

I shipped ours, never had a problem. If you have a nicer car, get covered transport… More expensive but worth it.

Usually if you upgrade to the 1gig service from Xfinity/ect, they lift the data restrictions.

“The Terabyte Data Internet Usage Plan does not apply to Xfinity Internet customers on our Gigabit Pro tier of service”

    OR

If you enroll in the Unlimited Data Option, you will pay a flat fee of $50 per month regardless of how much data you actually use. That way, you never have to pay individual overage charges.

Min 20% of gross income to retirement accounts. Easy peazy.

Any mortgage, loans, ect don’t count to savings.

The answer is probably that it depends on what specialty you are practicing. In Orthopedics I can look at the broken arm or ankle, tell them to splint it, and send it to my office. A broken hip that needs surgery will get shipped to arm main institution and I will fix it the next day.

If there is an orthopedic emergency, such as compartment syndrome, then they’ll have to be emergently shipped to our Hospital. This is no different then if they had no Orthopaedics coverage and would have to ship it to the next Hospital. It actually makes it easier as they have a direct contact and can ship it faster than trying to find an orthopedic surgeon to accept the transfer.

Maybe Orthopedics is unique in this situation that we can triage a lot of broken bones and patients over the phone.
