Does the use of CBD oil have any documented affect on mood, anxiety, or any associated euphoria?

I believe there is some published data on beneficial effects treating some seizure disorders.

BNL and hootie are touring. At the concert Everytime a whiff of pot came floating by I joked to my wife that I am sure it is just medicinal. She was less amused.

I refuse to buy CBD products but cannabis based muscle soreness salve definitely works.

    THC seems amazing for pain/anxiety

I’d say that is overstating the evidence quite a bit

Anecdotally have heard several positive CBD reviews.  I am unfamiliar with any studies on CBD oil specifically

It will be interesting to watch the number of MVAs in states with legalized cannabis.

Of course it affects your mood. No I’m sure everybody loves it because it makes their glaucoma better.

People just want to get high

I’m surprised at the generalized indictments I’m seeing here. The CBD extract is a separate component of hemp/marijuana than the THC, which is the psychoactive component of pot. Sure, medicinal use of pot is rife for abuse, but rubbing on CBD cream or taking CBD oil doesn’t produce a high if it is isolated from the THC. Here is a pretty good study that documents the effects (see the discussion around table 1). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3736954

Note, I am not saying there have been good studies that document the supposed benefits of CBD oil (beyond the references to seizure mitigation mentioned earlier in this discussion) or cream, so dismissive comments about efficacy are fair enough.

Because it is not regulated, some CBD products do contain a small amount of THC, and there is no way of knowing how much.  Even in a conservative, marajuana-illegal state, there is no interest in prosecuting CBD sales, and so it is the wild wild west.  In the lab, your patient may in fact test positive for THC, even if s/he has only used CBD oil. CBD shops are popping up everywhere, and there is no way to know what is in each batch of the product.

It seems to be a money grab by the producers before it gets regulated.

    I expect similar with vaping.

the government moves slow and they can sell a lot of product in a few years.

I would bet money that CBD and pot is safer than alcohol and driving, but more people drink and drive I guess

I think we will see the thc content is higher than advertised. Again I really doubt the stuff is magic, I just think it gives people a high legally
