I came across this and it reminded me of all the times I have cringed when a patient told me they decided to do X when I said do Y.
X= some “Natural method” Y= Research proven treatment

Plus those magical three letters in the chart; AMA. I find it pretty amazing the number of times people see my wife (some paying a fairly significant amount out of pocket), then when she say ‘x’, excuse ‘y’, try ‘z’ and excuse ‘a’, try ‘b’ and excuse ‘c’. Makes you wonder why people show up when they are going to a. ignore the advice provided, and/or b. continue to do whatever caused the issue in the first place.
