  • When does Vanguard set index fund price?

After the historic 2 day dow slide I was considering buying some additional total stock market index fund through Vanguard. I'm wondering the timing of pricing. My understanding is the index fund price is set once daily. Is the price set at the close of each day? So, if I purchase anytime on 2/26 then I get the "sale price" of the 2/24 - 2/25 market slide?

    no

your VTSAX mutual fund trade entered today gets the price at the end of day today
so if market is up today, a buy entered intraday today is not as good of a deal as a buy entered intraday yesterday

entered after hours gets price at end of day next day

    VTI etf trades intraday

MF is not a bid/ask process. It is Net asset value as of the day. All buys and sells executed at that price.
ETF’s are bid/ask during trading hours.
Repeat of the above, different words.
