  • Retired with 403b questions

Hello All, I am a retired school district employee with a 403b fixed rate annuity. Have approximately $44,000 in it and earning 4%. Wondering if I should roll it over into an IRA??? I have a few years until I will have to start taking RMDs. We are in a low tax bracket due to having to retire earlier than was planned... life happened. We are both 60+. Would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions . Thanks in advance!!!

One suggestion would be to r/o to an IRA then begin making annual Roth conversions (strategically calculated to minimize annual tax burden). You should be in an ideal position to do this and you can do "in-kind" conversions (i.e. convert investments rather than liquidate and convert cash).
